今日はマエストロにくわえ、ハンガリー人のベニーも参加して、冬のミッジに挑戦することとなったが、ここのところ厳しい寒さが続いていたせいで、冬は流れの極端に緩いこの川はほとんど凍り付いていた。で、こういう時はダムの近くに行けば氷が少ないのだが、ホントに釣りできる状態の場所はかなり限られていて苦戦を強いられた。しかしこんな寒い日に釣りにしてるのは俺たちぐらいだよ〜。ベニーもこんな日につきあってくれるとは、かなり見込みある釣りキチ！(in English) Todays buddies are Maestro, and Benny who is a Hungarian. We expected to see some midge hatch, but the river like this with very low winter flow were mostly frozen when we got there. We drove upstream closer to the dam to avoid the ice as much as possble, but the open water was really scarce. Did not see other fishermen much. Benny seemed to be a same kind of freak like us since he agreed to go fishing on the day like this!
で、結局ベニーと私はボウズ。マエストロでさえまともな魚はこの19.5インチオンリー。でもこれをドライでとったからさすがー。(in English) At the end of the day, Benny and I ended up getting skunked. Even Maestro got only one decent fish (19.5") like this. The fish was taken with size 22 dark midge emerger on the surface!
